As we approach the end of season 16, and halfway through Emerge's 2nd season in the OCM world Avery Nijholt has been called up by Joe to represent England in "Rotterdam - Amsterdam" in a supporting role for Kyle Abston.
Upon hearing the news Emerge team manager said "It is an honour to have a homegrown rider, who has come up through our youth system to represent their country, and we hope he can take his abilities and shine at the top level."
Nijholt also responded positively to being called up by saying "I am grateful to my team for helping me develop and very grateful to Joe (England team manager) for giving me this opportunity. I will give 100% in support of Abston."
There is fears that the call up could have come at a bad time however as Nijholt is riding in Orel-Kursk Classic before the WT race on Saturday, and then another 2 races on the following days. "He and the rest of the team will be riding these races, and then there off on various vacations before returning to the team for pre-season training" said Blue Bolt (Emerge manager).
He went on to say that they're will be 2 or 3 riders who are racing there last races for Emerge this weekend and we wish them well for the future. We have got a few promising riders coming in which will help us achieve our aims next season.
Aims for Season 17:
Establish the team firmly as a force in Division 3
Defend Rotterdam Classic (Providing back in Division 3 by then)
Send Nijholt to TT Centre (Complete his training)
Have at least 3 trained leadouts for Nijholt
Have Nijholt represent England as captain in 1 race

As only got at most 20 points left undecided on training CL and DH evenly, or giving him slightly more TT for better prologues and 1.5% in race engine
Impressive rider! Would like to have him in my team, but i guess who wouldn't :p
Where you gonna train him in now?
Plus Ralph Van Bon needs some competition ;)
Thanks, not yet maxxed, but must be shortly. Im thinking possibly 3 more training sessions at most, and then once got more money will send him 2 TT centre so hes a contender for tour prologues, plus the 1.5 in race engine advantage over most other riders.
Hoping to get Haynes, as could be a gd leadout for Nijholt.
Wow, what a great rider. He is a definitly a top sprinter and hiller. I hope you win the bid for ely haynes so that my 3 times former rider will ride for this great. :) Maxed yet?
